Bill Catambay

After high school, I was off to Santa Clara University where I got a degree in Computer Science with Math emphasis. Have been a computer programmer for Lockheed Martin for 25 years, and have worked with high school classmate Joe Medal for 20 of those years in the same office. Explored some of the world during that time: explored Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, UK (always wanted to take the midnight train to London, which is now checked off my to-do list). Enjoyed a two week language experience program in Puebla, Mexico, which included running with the bulls in Huamantla. Amazingly, one of the daughters of the family I stayed with in Puebla just found me on Facebook!

In the 1990's, I took a 10-year break from adventuring the world, turning my exploration inward. "The only real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking
new landscapes, but in having new eyes." In 2006, with new eyes intact, I resumed my world-traveling in China where I explored the Great Wall, stood with the
Terracotta army, enjoyed the authentic cuisine of Shanghai along the Yangtze, and met my wife, Angel, a police woman working in Shenzhen. I got to see the Olympic Torch run in 2008, as it went right by Angel's house. After 10 trips to the Middle Kingdom, which also included visits to the Forbidden City, Beijing, and the beautiful city of Guilin, Angel and her son, Peter, returned with me to the US. We were married in 2008, and recently had our first baby, Michael Nathan, who was born in May of 2010.
