I have enjoyed reading all the postings in here and receiving e-mails from long-lost friends. I won't be able to attend the reunion, but will look forward to seeing pictures posted on this site!
Debbie (Victor) Arnold

Hope all of you attending will have a blast for all us who can't, I'll be looking forward to pictures.

I'm really bummed that I can't make it to the reunion! My husband and I are living in New York with our 4 sons. Haven't been home to SJ in over 7 years and really miss it! Wishing you all happy memories!

Hello everyone! I'm sorry that I cannot attend the reunion. I will be attending an Army school in Kansas that is required for promotion to major.

Let me fill you in on my life after Oak Grove. After attending summer school, I received my diploma in the attendance office. This was the beginning of my wake-up call to reality after H.S. After a short stint in the conservation corp, I joined the Army Reserves. I have been in for 20 years and have had a ball blowing stuff up with my Tank. I went back to school and got my BS in 1989. If you remember me, I weighed about 125lb dripping wet. I've gained about 65lbs ( a lot of pushups and weights) and wear a crew cut. I have a business in Sacramento that is doing very well and married with two children. I have to attribute my success to my belief in God because the life style I was leading was taking me down fast. I have been in many life and death situations and I know an Angel was helping me because I should be dead.

I look forward to hearing from anybody who remembers me.

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who have contacted me. I also want to thank Bill for finding my Freshman picture that was taken just after a swim meet, he couldn't have found a worse picture!!! Ah well, coulda been worse, I coulda been naked!

To Kim Harvey: Hey there and how are you? It's been years! I hope you are doing well. Would love to talk to you.

Lisa Putz: Hello to you, hope you are doing great. I hope to see you at the reunion, e-mail me sometime and lets catch up!

Jack Souza, I was so glad to hear that you'll be coming to the reunion.

All the best.
Debbie (Victor) Arnold

Sue (Wagner) Beck,
How's things going? It's been so long...
Ron Siemer
6/19/01
Richard: I was really sorry to hear about father Jerry. What a character. I still remember the tribunal he organized for Matt and my 'indiscretions' at Berkley. I think the sanctions are still in place. Matt always did seem to be in the center of the fire.
Fred Myetich
6/19/01
Hey all!
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm planning on bringing my senior yearbook to the reunion. I think it'll be cool to have people sign (or re-sign) it. Looking forward to seeing you all.
Kathy Hardwick Reynolds
6/17/01
If anyone knows how to reach Andy Hale, can you tell
him I would like to email him? I have no idea where he
is nowadays.
Sean Knepper
6/13/01
Roland: The fact only $50 was missing and you ended up in a bathroom as opposed to a gutter... LOL! Could have been worse, you could have slept in the Mustang with the slashed seats (now how'd that happen!!!??? LOL)!!!

Looking forward to seeing you again.....
Roland Kippenhan
6/12/01
Sean, yeah, only $50 light. Proof that Matt was indeed my friend!
Matt (Maes) Heminger
6/6/01
Robbie Vollmer: email me you good lookin' son of a gun... let's make nice again... you were a big part of my life for years.

Toni Michel: can't believe you're married... I was holding out for you or Ondine Rennie and it looks like both of you have gone and broken my heart... ah well, c'est la vie.

Anyone know whatever happened to Marty Mornhinweg? I heard he got a job selling tiling in Peoria?

Thank you... that's all folks... but I'll be here all week... make sure and tip your waitresses.
Richard Bender
6/2/01
Be sure and check out the Picture Gallery. I found some pictures of the Renaissance Fair and some of the graduation parties that were going on that spring. Going through the old photo album brought back a lot of good memories.
Dayna (Dana) Davis

Hello Everybody! It is so fun to get back in touch with everyone from high school. I finally connected with Cathy Hagerman after searching for her for nearly 20 years. Lisa Fernandez - YOU are next on my hit list!

To catch you up on me (if anyone's interested), I live in So. Cal. Have been here for the last 15 years. I ended up here when I was riding because this is where the money is in Thoroughbred racing. I have two sons, Joshua will be 14 in October and Zack just turned 6 months old! Yes, I know... the spacing got a little out of hand.

I quit riding horses (for a living) about 5 years ago and started working in film production. Right now, I manage a Video Services Department for a large Legal Services Company in Los Angeles. Hope the past twenty years have treated all of you good. Let's just stop the clocks now, OK? I don't want to get any older!!! Take care all, I hope to see you at the reunion.
Marianne (Van Bezooyen) Skok
6/1/01
O.K. ALREADY! Vickie Cirelli is being a jokester. Her and I see each other all the time and she thought it would be funny to ask about me. Hey Bri, thanks for caring! I'll buy you a light rail pass next time you're in town. Cathy Hagerman, what the heck is going on? Email me!
Sean Knepper
6/1/01
David: Clearly it's a dead-heat between those two. On the flip side, you can't go wrong with Singapore Airlines... and man, what Stewardesses... WOW!

Roland: Only $50 was missing? LOL

Richard: The ultimate riverboat gambler!
Robert Robertson
5/31/01
Stopping in to say "Hi!", from Indiana.
David Pipe
5/31/01
So Brian, are you coming to the reunion or what? If I can make it all the way from Sydney, surely you can make the trip from Olympia.

Sean: In all of my global travels, I have learned two very important things: 1) Never fly Air India, and 2) Never fly Aeroflot. So far I have successfully been able to avoid both; however, once I was stranded in Karachi, Pakistan. They don't like Americans there very much...
Bill Catambay
5/31/01
Marianne is now Marianne Skok, and lives in South San Jose.
Brian Hegarty
5/31/01
Hey Vic,

Marianne's still around. She just got married last year. Works for the Valley Transit Authority. A supervisor, I think. She's the one you talk to when those stupid light rail machines won't accept your perfectly good, nothing-in-the-world-wrong-with-them dollar bills!!
Angela Jones (Carter)
5/30/01
I look forward to seeing everyone at the reunion, although it saddens me to know that I will not be able to see my best friend in High School, Kim Ivy, as she is no longer with us. I ask all of you to remember her though, she was a wonderful person and I still miss her after all these years. Does anyone know how to contact Debbie O'Sullivan? We played basketball together for years and I lost contact with her.
Vickie Cirelli (Schott)
5/30/01
Has anyone seen Marianne Vanbezooyen? She was my best friend through high school and I have not heard from her in years. If you know anything of her, please let me know. Thanks, Vic.
Richard Bender
5/30/01
Ron, that's fantastic. Congratulations (only a decade late). What a great story.
Melissa Thornton (Nani)
5/29/01
Hope everyone is fine. Where is everyone from the field and smokin' in the bathroom? I want to find David Moore, Wayne Karsich, Judy Bell and more. Help! I believe Mike Johnson is in Oregon and Mike Chism lives by me. I'll try to get him to come. I work for Steve Guile's sister at Herman School. She says that Jack Souza lives in the area too. See Ya there!!!
Sean Knepper
5/29/01
Yes, I am still alive... Alright David Pipe, I'll come....

So you have a long flight, at least you won't be flying Air India (or will you?)!

To anyone checking the message board, give me a shout...
Janet (Morrow) Gallagher
5/29/01
I found Amber, call off the posse. Thanks to all that may have been trying to find her for me.
Ron Siemer
5/28/01
Hey Richard - Debbie (Victor) Arnold said you had been asking about me and told me about this website. Gitte S¯rensen (Danish exchange student - you may remember her from Humanities) and I were reunited in 1989 and (finally) married in 1995.
David Pipe
5/27/01
G'day mates! Greetings from the land down under. Wow, all of these people I haven't thought about in years...but High School seems like yesterday. Looking forward to seeing all of you. (Good luck with #3, Richard - I haven't even managed #1 yet! - been too busy globetrotting) Yes, I WILL be there (man, 7,000 miles just to see you clowns...) Keep cool Mike! (Maybe a few extra pounds, but you DO look the same!)
Mike Harris
5/25/01
Hey Matt - "There is no way someone doesn't change even in the slightest after more than 20 years" - Oh, but I have changed... I only wish I could fit into the size of clothing I wore in HS!!

With regards to your comment about selling my soul to the debbil, sometimes I feel I have by living here in the Sonoran Desert, where it is presently a toasty 106 (thank heaven for swimming pools!).

Richard Bender
5/24/01
Hi Little Roly. It's good to hear from you once again. I am looking forward to as many of us as possible getting together.

Anyone hear from Dave these days? How bout Ron Siemer or the Nichols (Dave and Dean)? Jerry died of AIDS years ago and I think Ed (Baby Hill Giant) Waltner is dead as well. Doug Bottomley lives in San Jose and is raising his daughter alone (his wife died of breast cancer at 35). Sean Knepper still games and he and I may meet at Origins this year. I have been married and divorced twice, and am about to try it again (third times the charm )!

I have to say that I have made very few friends over the years that are as close to me as you guys were. I have missed you all greatly over the years. Hope to see you soon.
Matt (Maes) Heminger
5/24/01
Hey what's with Mikey Harris posting two 'then' pictures and no 'now' pictures? There is no way someone doesn't change even in the slightest after more than 20 years. Maybe he sold his soul to the debbil?
Janet (Morrow) Gallagher
5/24/01
Hey Kim Harvey, it's your old field buddy Janet, how the heck are ya? Hope to see you at the reunion.
Carrie (White) McDowell
5/24/01
Ciao tutti! Hi everyone! It's a blast going through this site and seeing so many familiar names and faces. Some names I couldn't even remember but the pictures...WOW! You guys running the site are doing a fantastic job and should know that it is appreciated. Everyone have a terrific time at the reunion.

I'll be thinking of you. Be safe.
Roland Kippenhan

Matt --

Of course I don't remember! I was blind drunk. All I remember is that you and Dave came by. We drank. We got hungry, so I closed the station. Next thing I knew I woke up on the bathroom floor. I was $50 short in the cash register (gee how did that happen?). I got on the bus to go home, and woke up in Milpitas. I don't know, maybe there is a shadow of a memory of a policeman at Dennys asking if anybody would take responsibility for me.

With friends like you... My fear is well placed.
Dave Phillips
5/23/01
I'd like everyone to know that the picture of me playing the guitar is a classic!!! Did I really have hair that long? I'm looking forward to the reunion!
Bill Catambay

Lisa (Lynch) Darnell

Suzette Bernal, you must be out there somewhere. I would love to see you at the reunion. Write me.
Karen (Lee) Jensen
5/17/01
We are going! Looking forward to it. Please forword any info to me.
Janet Gallagher (Morrow)
5/16/01
Can anybody help me find my good friend Amber Tinkey (now Brady)? I lost contact with her and would really like to get in touch with her. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Matt (Maes) Heminger
5/14/01
Writing from Hong Kong on business. I must object to the photograph of me in the Dave Pipe collection. That picture in no way reflects my current state of development both professionally and aesthetically. I want to assure any single class of '80 women who are going to be unaccompanied to the reunion that I no longer look or act that way.

Thank you in advance for your consideration in this matter.

P.S. The picture may not even be of me at all... I shall have to do some more research... perhaps the evil Dave Pipe is once again attempting to slander my character (or lack thereof).

P.P.S. If I were you Roland, I'd be less afraid of my having a suite at the reunion and more afraid of what's going to happen should you over imbibe again (remember Dave Anderson and I and the ill fated gas station visit?).
Kathy (Hardwick) Reynolds
5/13/01
Suzette......What was that????? Email me!
Suzette Bernal
5/10/01
Kathy Hardwick how the #%*...
Kathy (Webb) Underwood
5/9/01
Hi everyone! It's good to hear a lot of people will be showing up for this event. I remember back in high school that I won extra points for remembering the first and last names of all the people in my class and all the first names of all the people in my graduating class. Now I lost my yearbook, deeply saddened. I will know you when I see you.
Kathy (Webb) Underwood
5/9/01
Angela, couldn't get enough liquid in that swimming pool. Drinkin' like a fish are we? Concerned about the bar? Glad to see you'll make it, from one fishie to another!
Brian Hughes
5/9/01
Sorry for my disappearance, my spy plane was shot down over, umm well, someplace, and I couldn't make it to my email... I was almost lost for good, but I was rescued by my high level security agent in Washington -- Missy "Rambo" Horn. Thanks Missy, once again you get me out of trouble!
Chris Ramm
5/4/01
Hi everyone, I guess it's time to break out of my shell. Anyone wishing to get in contact with me feel free to send me an Email. It's great just to page though the names on the alumni list. We sure have some memories. So there, I'm out..............
Jacqueline Conniff
5/2/01
Looking forward to the reunion and seeing all my old classmates!
Mike Cadigal
5/1/01
Wow!! It's great seeing all these familar names. Looking forward to seeing everyone in July!!

I still remember after the 10 yr reunion a bunch of us went to some bar on Blossom Hill Rd and kept the party going until closing time. (What was the name of that bar?) I also think there was a picnic the next day. Man you talk about a party weekend. Can't wait to see what is going to happen this reunion. One thing about the Class of 1980, we sure knew how to have a good time!

Don't forget to bring those business cards and family pictures...

Cheers !!
Matt (Maes) Heminger
4/28/01
Now why does your name not ring a bell with me Steve...<grin>... I look forward to seeing all of the ex (and current) geeks, gamers, and role players there.

Let's see how well we've stood up to the tests (and ravages) of time, the plunging NASDAQ, multiple marriages, and the Clinton Presidency.
Bill Catambay

Per our privacy policy, we will not be sharing any e-mails without the explicit permission of the person owning the e-mail. If you would like to contact someone on the list, send an e-mail to oakgrove@mac.com. If we have their e-mail, we'll send them your message.
Monica (Lomas) Vella
4/26/01
Any plans to share email addresses? There are a few folks I have lost touch with and I would love to drop them a line. Thanks.
Kathy (Hardwick) Reynolds
4/25/01
Has anyone heard from Suzette Bernal or Tammy Sherman? Its great to catch up with people. I wish I could attend but its just not going to happen this time.
Debbie (Victor) Arnold
4/22/01
Does anyone know where Teresa Woodward is? Last known place was Texas where she lived with her soon to be ex at that time and her son.
Steve Hartman
4/21/01
Choot, Mon. Thorpy's not even a member of our class. But if he shows up at the door, I 'magine a few of us will be glad to see 'im.

Thorpy -> alias:I-Cubed -> alias:Bubba -> alias:Mark

Yep, as Roland says, I'm gettin' afraid. Very 'fraid.
Debbie (Victor) Arnold
4/20/01
It's nice to see old friends names pop up, it's tempting me to change our plans. I don't think we can but I will sure look into it. I would love to hear from you.

Thanks,
Debbie
Missy Andrade (Horn)
4/20/01
Hey, I know where Brian Hughes is...I'll get this website info to him ASAP.
Alison Miner (Reynolds)
4/19/01
It is so fun to read all these messages and look all of you up in the yearbook! I'm sure we all still look the same, right?!?! (thank God, no!)

Not to be morbid, but does anyone know how Kelly Smith passed away? I had known Kelly since grade school, but lost touch after high school.

A big thank you to those who are working so hard in getting us together in July. I will look forward to getting re-acquainted with all of you.
Tom Slaski
4/19/01
Yes, I will be attending, but my buddy Jay Krafty will not be. He would have, but he passed away a few years ago. He will be missed deeply. Hope all is well with everyone. We have come a long way. Can you say HIGH TECH?

TOM...........
Shirley Harrison (Reno)
4/19/01
I am looking forward to meeting everyone at the reunion. Not sure if my husband will attend but I will be there. See you all in July. I'll be on the dance floor line dancing (hope they have some country music).
Francine Wagner
4/17/01
My husband and myself will be attending. Hope all is going well.
Robert Mukai
4/17/01
Check St. Anthony's dining kitchen or the Salvation Army. Maybe it's bhughes@salvationarmy.org.
Bill Catambay
4/17/01
We are still looking for Brian Hughes. It's recently been brought to my attention that after Brian requested that Rob or Jerry Mukai contact him, that neither Rob nor Jerry sent him an e-mail. It is presumed, now, that Brian got deeply depressed, started drinking again, lost his job and his
family, and is probably roaming the streets, homeless, somewhere in San Francisco. If anyone has seen Brian, please drop a quarter in his cup and let us know where he is.
Bill Catambay
4/16/01
A lot of people have asked this, so I'll post the answer here. You can purchase the tickets whenever you want, but the sooner the better. Remember, it's a handful of your fellow alumni organizing the event, which includes paying for hotels, rentals, DJs, etc.. Since none of us are independently wealthy, we are completely dependent upon tickets sales for doing anything. If you all paid at the last minute, we'd be in trouble. If most of you paid now, we'd be in a much better position!
Dave Phillips
4/13/01
Do we purchase the $75 ticket when we get there or do you need the $ up front?
Jeff Hazel
4/13/01
Bill, is the class of '81 planning a 20 year reunion as well? Maybe we should combine the two and use the additional money for this event. The '81 grads could act as servers, etc., just like back in high school. Just a thought.
Vanessa Hodam
4/13/01
I finally thought of a song! (Nothing like being a month late!!)

Tears of a Clown by Smokey Robinson
(the Song Girls did SO MANY routines to that song)
Roland Kippenhan
4/13/01
Well, I wasn't planning on getting a room. I thought I'd just drive home afterwards. But now that I see Matt is planning on having a suite... I'm afraid. Very afraid.
Fred Myetich
4/13/01
I, too, am looking forward to seeing a bunch of faces I recognize. Make sure I've got room for my wheelchair... ha ha ha ha. See you all there.
Matt Heminger
4/12/01
Looking forward to it...will be getting a room/suite for a cocktail party as well.
Thorpy Inglebird III
4/12/01
I'll be hiding behind the Craps table.
Bill Catambay
4/12/01
Angela, the reunion committee is still in the planning stages. We will probably be planning this up to the last minute, because as funds come in and the total attendees grow, we can adjust what we can spend. There will be a no host bar, and there will be refreshments. We will keep you updated along the way!
Angela Maguire
4/12/01
Can you tell me a little more about what has been planned so far, or is the committee still in the planning stages? I understand that refreshments (hors d'oeuvres) will be served, will there be a bar or a "no host" bar?
David Pipe
4/12/01
I get some kind of prize for coming from the farthest away to attend this thing, right? Actually, I try to get back every 6 months or so for a visit, so this fits right into my schedule... see you there.
Gordon Smith
4/12/01
Thanks for the invite and I'm looking forward to the event. I just hope I will be able to recognize my old classmates! Let's hope the text on the name tags are large... Ha
Bill Catambay
4/12/01
Opal, the exact specifics of what is offered will alter as funds come in and the total number of attendees grows. The prices covers the hotel hall, tables & chairs, security, a "no host" bar, a DJ (for music and dancing), casino rentals (gambling for prizes), and refreshments. As more tickets are purchased, we can better determine spending details.
Opal Darcie
4/12/01
Well, where was I before the screen disappeared? I'm also going to be on vacation before that time so I will be in the middle of trip recovery. I guess, first things first ... what does the $75 cover? Is there music? What band? Buffet? Sit down dinner? I heard something about a casino ... or am I mistaken? Please elaborate ... Thank you.
Debbie (Victor) Arnold
4/12/01
Wish I could attend, but our family has plans already with the upcoming events of my husband retiring from the Air Force. I would love to hear from any of you via e-mail or postal mail. My high school memories are something I'll carry with me for a lifetime. Have a great time.
Bill Catambay
